Sinopsis: Más secretos sobre la historia de los Salvatore son revelados.
En Flashbacks, Stefan (Paul Wesley) y Damon (Ian Somerhalder) recuerdan acciones de hace mucho tiempo tomadas por muchos ciudadanos, incluido su padre, Giuseppe Salvatore (James Remar) y Pearl (Kelly Hu), llevándoles a eventos devastadores que causaron la ruptura de su relación. En el presente la cita de Bonnie (Katerina Graham) con Ben (Sean Faris) toma un camino terrorífico. Elena (Nina Dobrev) ayuda a Stefan cuando él y Damon corren a encontrar el diario perdido que perteneció al ancestro de Elena. Stefan se entera de que Alaric (Matt Davis) tiene una razón oculta por su interés en el diario y la historia de la ciudad. Damon descubre que un antiguo conocido ha vuelto a la ciudad con un plan que él conoce.
