Sinopsis: Cuando Stefan (Paul Wesley) y Damon (Ian Somerhalder) se hacen con un nuevo y peligroso enemigo, y Stefan se verá en una situación peliaguda. Damon y Elena (Nina Dobrev) intentan convencer a Alaric (Matt David) para que trabajen juntos para ayudar a Stefan. Matt (Zach Roerig) tiene la esperanza de que su madre, Kelly Donovan (Melinda Clarke), puede que haya vuelto para quedarse esta vez. Después de que su coche se estropee en una tormenta, Caroline (Candice Accola) hace un terrorífico descubrimiento que impactará a todos en el pueblo. Steven R. McQueen también sale.
